Germany: Scholz signs agreement to bring Merkel's reign period to end


(MENAFN) Below an agreement to finish Angela Merkel's 16-year government, Olaf Scholz will lead a three-party alliance with wide schemes for Germany's implementation of an environmentally-friendly economy.

He will take power with the Greens and the business-friendly Free Democrats for nearly 2 months after his Social Democrat party managed to win national votes. Climate safety is a critical part of the alliance agreement.

By 2030, the sides hope to have phased out charcoal utilization, eight years ahead of time. Moreover, they will try to utilize 2 percent of German land for wind energy and concentrate on hydrogen-based power. During the same year, the sides need renewable energy to provide 80 percent of electricity and 15 million electric vehicles to be seen on German roadways.
There are indeed proposals to allow cannabis selling in some authorized establishments, with performance and allocation restrictions.
