Qatar - Education Affairs Sector issues 2021 achievement report

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The development of the national educational curriculum for schools from kindergarten to grade 12 is one of the major achievements of Education Sector of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, said an official.
This came in a report on the achievements of the educational sector in its various departments during the year 2021 and the past years in the educational fields issued by the Education Affairs Sector of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education recently.
Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Fawzia Abdulaziz Al Khater in a statement said that the Education Sector made remarkable achievements during past few years.
She said that the major achievements include development of national education curriculum for school, upgrading education streams for secondary stage and developing the early education stage in government kindergartens and schools.
Al Khater said that other achievements are developing government specialised education, gaining momentum in education by adopting the STEM model in accordance with international best practices.
She said that the development of educational services for students with disabilities, opening specialized schools, managing the educational process in times of crisis, developing processes to attract and qualify teachers, and meeting the needs of schools, and granting professional licenses to teachers and school leaders are among the achievements of the sector.
Al Khater said that the educational affairs sector is working to achieve the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. She said that each department prepares its annual operational plans based on achieving these strategic goals.
Al Khater said that the departments' operational plans include the implementation procedures that the department will accomplish annually through activities and procedures related to the implementation of the department's strategic plan and operational initiatives, in addition to a specific timetable for implementing those procedures.
She said that 70 public schools were rehabilitated to be centres for integrating students with disabilities into schools. This initiative was completed in 2020 under the development of inclusion services for students with disabilities.
Al Khater said that in the academic year 2020-21, a parallel tack was introduced in the adult education system for the secondary stage, which aims to help adult students who are unable to complete their studies at the secondary stage with the same study programs included in general education for the secondary stage through their own study programmes.
