Qatar - UK police arrest three men after car explosion in Liverpool


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) UK Police arrested three men under the terrorism Act after a man was killed in a car explosion outside Liverpool Women's Hospital, in northwest England.

Counter-terrorism police said in a statement that the three men are in there 20's and were detained in Kensington area of the city.

The police are still investigating the cause of the blast.

The passenger was declared dead at the scene and is yet to be formally identified, according to (BBC).

The driver was injured and is in hospital in a stable condition.

During a press conference outside the hospital, Chief Constable of Merseyside police Serena Kennedy urged the public to remain calm

Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson expressed his condolences on twitter to the families of the victim, and thanked the emergency services for their quick response and professionalism, and the police for their ongoing work on the investigation.

UK police announced on Sunday the death of a person and the injury of another in a car explosion outside a hospital in Liverpool city.
