(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday checked on Masharea Comprehensive Centre for Special Education in the Northern Jordan Valley, which was built upon his directives following a visit to the area in 2017.
King Abdullah, accompanied by HRH Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, His Majesty's chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy, toured the facilities at the centre, which provides diagnosis as well as education, rehabilitation and behavioural services for persons with disabilities. The centre has a capacity to receive up to 48 individuals per day.
The centre includes 10 classrooms and specialised departments for physiotherapy, treating speech disorders, and providing counselling, in addition to a computer lab, a lecture hall, a crafts workshop, and a playground, according to a Royal Court statement.
A total of 21 employees work at the centre, which serves 27 beneficiaries on a daily basis and 73 on a weekly basis. The centre provides services to people with mental disabilities and autism, and targets males between the ages of 6 and 16 and females between the ages of 6 and 18.
Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, and Social Development Minister Ayman Mufleh accompanied His Majesty.
