NHTTI celebrates Int'l Chefs Day


(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: National Hotel and tourism Training Institute (NHTTI) celebrated International Chefs Day at its premise at Mohakhali in the capital on October 20.

On the occasion, the institute organised a food competition among its students at the institute premise.

Jahida Begum, Head of culinary Training of the institute and her department organised the event. Md Hannan Mia, Chairman, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation attended the programme as the Chief Guest while Abdus Samad, Joint Secretary and Director (Planning) of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation attended as the Special Guest.

Other industry leaders, chefs, government officials, media representatives and food enthusiasts of the country were also present on the occasion.

NHTTI started celebrating International Chefs Day from 2018, the first time in the country. Ever since the occasion has been getting more popularity among chefs and food workers of Bangladesh.

NHTTI has trained over 20 thousand qualified Chefs since 1974. They all are currently working at star hotels and restaurants worldwide.
