S. Korea: Expansion 22.9 pct seen in export during 1st 20 days of this month


(MENAFN) On Thursday, Sep. 23 customs office figures demonstrated that export of South Korea recorded double-figure expansion in the first 20 days of September amidst the sustained rebound in global demand.

The Korea Customs Service said that the outbound shipment reached USD36.1 billion in the September 1-20 period, a rise by 22.9 percent from the corresponding period of 2020.

Import rose 38.8 percent hitting USD35 billion in the 20-day period, bringing the trade surplus to USD1.1 billion.

World demand for locally-manufactured products kept rebounding from the coronavirus pandemic. South Korea’s export continued to surge for 10 consecutive months through August.
