Turkey’s exports for 2021 reach USD169.6B despite pandemic


(MENAFN) According to an announcement this month in the nation’s medium-term program (MTP), Turkish exporters have locked onto the country's new export target of USD211 billion for the current year.

Since Turkey's exports increased 37 percent in the January-August period of 2021 to USD140 billion, the country is on track to amount at the USD211 billion target by year’s-end, the head of the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM), Ismail Gulle stated.

A press release by the assembly declared that within five years Turkey can increase efforts to reach a yearly level of USD300 billion.

The official further stated that Turkey’s exports stood at USD169.6 billion, beating the target, regardless of the worldwide collapse due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
