Egypt, Japan's Toyota sign memorandum of understanding to produce blue ammonia


(MENAFN) According to Asharq, the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Japan's Toyota Tsusho inked a memorandum of understanding to consider the opportunities for manufacturing blue ammonia in Egypt.

The ministry further declared that economic feasibility studies and the best obtainable chances in the petroleum sector are going to be applied to complete projects for extracting and storing carbon dioxide to manufacture blue ammonia, with the help of the recent Japanese technologies.

Studying opportunities in the mentioned plan is going to be varied out through collaboration via the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), the Egyptian Petrochemical Holding Company (ECHEM), and Toyota Tsusho Company.

Argus Media reported that acquiring blue ammonia and hydrogen among other cleaner fuels are a main part of Japanese efforts to decarbonize its society by 2050.
