São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) called on Brazilian trade associations to partner for Expo 2020 Dubai, a world's fair in the United Arab Emirates from October 1 this year to March 31 next year. The invitation was made this Wednesday (8) at an online meeting of the Business Development Committee, an initiative by the ABCC to bring together representatives of trade organizations in the country.

The ABCC wants to engage the associations for the UAE – Brazil Sustainability Forum, to be held at Expo 2020 Dubai on October 3, and in the schedule that the institution will promote during the world's fair. The ABCC will also be available to cooperate with other trade associations in the initiatives they wish to promote in the UAE during Expo 2020 Dubai.

The goal is to make the trade associations and their members benefit from contacts in the Sustainability Forum and other activities by the ABCC at the Expo. The president of the ABCC, Osmar Chohfi, stated the forum could bring positive impacts to the relations between the Arab countries and Brazil and generate business and partnership opportunities in the sustainability agenda.

“It is a critical agenda, increasingly demanded by the final consumer, companies, investors, governments, and which adds value to the products and the country's community,” said the Institutional Relations manager of the ABCC, Fernanda Baltazar, on sustainability. The secretary-general of the ABCC, Tamer Mansour, called the associations to market value-added products to the region.

The Sustainability Forum will focus on the main synergies between the two countries in the sustainability agenda and identify opportunities for partnerships, good practices, fostering new business, and investments in the field. The subjects will be some of those already present in the Brazil-UAE relations, focusing on sustainability and topics such as food security. Economic and business sustainability, leadership experiences, innovation partnership, and digital technologies for sustainable development will also be addressed.

Baltazar said the forum would be an opportunity to discover ways to work more sustainably and innovatively in the agendas with the UAE. The event will occur in a hybrid format and will also be broadcasted to Brazil for those unable to travel.
