Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency kicks off first summer school of 2021

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency (Transparency International – Jordan) kicked off the first summer school of 2021 as part of the“Integrity School” project with the participation of youth from various Jordanian governorates.

During the seven-day intensive trainings, the participants will learn about issues of integrity, anti-corruption, human rights, democracy, conflict resolution and effectively managing advocacy campaigns, according a statement from the organisation.

The project contributes to advancing youth leaders' active participation to promote Political and societal transformation processes based on the development of democratic values and principles.

The project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, through the zivik funding programme of the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (IFA), a German organisation for international cultural relations.

Executive Director of Rasheed Abeer Mdanat said the“Integrity School” project builds on the success of the project's previous phase, led by Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency.

“We have seen an impressive exchange of thought in our previous schools, where youth discussed and debated issues pertinent to their societies and ways to solve them on a national level,” Mdanat said.

“This school is similar to other Integrity Schools organised by the national chapters of Transparency International in Tunisia, Palestine, Lithuania, Turkey and other countries. It promotes team spirit, social solidarity, and conflict management and resolution,” she added.

The first and second phases of the Integrity Schools project were carried out in 2020.

In the camps, young men and women aged 18 to 30 discussed human rights, democracy, conflict resolution and combating corruption, among other skills that help build leaders who can bring positive change to their societies, read the statement.

Three other schools will be implemented this year in the same context.

Rasheed (Transparency International-Jordan) was established in 2013, as a not-for-profit civil society organization, through a group of activists in the field of anti-corruption. Rasheed (Transparency International-Jordan) began work in Amman April 2014 and represents the only official Transparency International group in Jordan, according to the statement.
