13-year-old boy gang raped in DI Khan


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A 13-year-old boy was allegedly gang raped by nine persons in Kokar village in Dera Ismail Khan on Friday, police said.

The victim boy, Shoaib Akhtar's father Muhammad Saleem said while lodging a case in Saddar Police Station that his son was coming back home after repairing his motorcycle when he was confronted by accused Faizan, Ansar and Adnan who were travelling on another motorcycle near Himmat Adda. He alleged that he accused took his son to a house in United Town and subjected him to sexual abuse along with their six other accomplices.

Police have filed a case against the nine accused under the Child Protection Act, and initiated investigation. No information about any arrest was received this filing of this report.

The DI Khan tragic incident happed three weeks after a boy was allegedly gang raped by his own friends in Khazana area of Peshawar.

On July 09, 16-year-old victim, Waqar said while lodging report with Khazana Police Station that he was in his house when his friend Usman called him outside his home through a phone call. He said his two other friends, Shahzeb and Luqman, were also present there who pointed a gun towards him and took him forcibly to fields along Northern Bypass on a motorcycle. The victim boy said his three friends gang raped him on gunpoint and also made his pictures and video on mobile phone.

The same day, a four-year-old child was allegedly sexually abused inside his house in Shangla.

Sahil, an NGO working for rights of children who become victim of sexual violence, said in a report that 4 percent increase was witnessed in children sexual abuse incidents in 2020 as compared to 2019 in Pakistan. The report claimed that average eight children become victim of sexual abuse in Pakistan every day. The report said most of the culprits involved in sexual abuse of children are relatives or other close people who are already known to family.

Eminent psychiatrist Dr Mian Iftikhar Hussain says children usually are sensitive and sudden incidents of violence leave an impact on their mind. He says such children tend to blame themselves for their fate due to which they always remain in a state of despair, fury and fear and they don't trust anyone in life.
