Insurgents capture 2 military bases in Kandahar

KABUL: The Taliban have purportedly overrun two military outposts in PD 7 Kandahar's capital city, a security source said on Friday.
Provincial Police said that the reinforce security forces arrived in the area to push the militants back.
Kandahar is insecure province in the south, where fierce clashes between the security forces and Taliban have erupted in recent months. This comes as the Taliban have captured over 100 districts as the U.S. led NATO forces are exiting, and leaves the country's peace process amid uncertainty and ambiguous.
