Energy company EXIST reaches top of Fortune’s Turkish 500 list
(MENAFN) Turkey’s energy company Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) has obtained the best spot in Fortune magazine’s top 500 Turkish firms list regarding net sales, shifting fellow energy giant TUPRAS, which decreases to second place.
A report released by the magazine on Friday said that EXIST's trade came to 105.8 billion Turkish liras (USD15.07 billion) last year, a rise by 20.3 percent on a year-on-year basis.
TUPRAS, number two on the list, recorded sales of 63.24 billion Turkish liras (USD9 billion) last year, a decrease by 29.4 percent annually.
Amidst the pandemic – which resulted in curfews of the majority of stores excluding supermarkets – discount grocery store chain BIM was third, a rise from sixth place in 2019, with its net sales of 55.49 billion Turkish liras (USD7.9 billion), jumping 38 percent annually last year.
