First Minister Nicola Sturgeon’s Scottish National Party gains 64 seats in election


(MENAFN)According to the final vote count result, first Minister Nicola Sturgeon’s Scottish National Party (SNP) gained 64 seats in the election.

The vote count that stayed for two days according to Coronavirus precautions stated that SNP failed to get to the overall majority by a single seat in the 129-seat Parliament.

The recent count coming in, a pre-independence majority in Holyrood is clear now with Greens also winning eight seats.

Sturgeon called the result as "extraordinary and historic."
