(MENAFN)Official statistics showed that passenger trips on Chinese railways reach 117 million throughout an eight-day travel rush from April 29 to May 6.
The number increased by 11.54 million, or 11 percent, from the 2019 level, the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. stated on Friday, May 7.
It stated that railways transported 83.17 million tons of cargo throughout the period, it increased by 14.6 percent year on year.
Total rail passenger trips made throughout China's May Day holiday, which expands from May 1 to 5, hit 78.5 million, the statistics revealed.
