(MENAFN) On Saturday, Apr. 24 Turkish President sent a letter to the chief of the Armenian Patriarchate in Istanbul calling on the improvement of good friendly ties with Armenia.

The debate regarding the Armenian declarations of the events of 1915, which has been politicized by third parties and became instruments of meddling, hasn't been helpful, stated head of the Armenian Patriarchate of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his message to Sahak Mashalian.

Erdogan further said: "we cannot allow the centuries-old culture of Turks and Armenians living together to be forgotten."

The Turkish leader reaffirmed his call to improve good friendly ties with Armenia.
