International steel output increases 10 percent


(MENAFN)According to the World Steel Association on Thursday, April 22, worldwide crude steel production increased 10 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of this year.
The association revealed that crude steel output for the 64 countries reporting to the platform was 486.9 million tons in January-March.
Turkey, the eighth-main crude steel creator, saw a yearly increase of 9.5 percent in crude steel output in the first three months of 2021, to 9.8 million tons.
China stayed the world’s main crude steel creator with more than half of international production. The country's steel output augmented 15.6 percent to 271 million tons in the first quarter.
