Banihal Highway Open For Two-Way Traffic Today

Srinagar: Traffic authorities on Monday said that there would be both way traffic on Jammu-Srinagar highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir with the outside world.

'Tomorrow (Tuesday), subject to fair weather and better road condition, LMVs (Passenger) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa . However, TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic,' a traffic department official said in a communiqué.

'HMVs shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar from 1500 hrs to 2200 hrs. TCU Udhampur shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.'
