Jordan records 29 COVID-19 deaths, 4,584 infections


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, March 5 (KUNA) -- Jordan on Friday reported 29 mortalities from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 4,584 more infections in the past 24 hours.
The death toll rose to 4,862 and the cases of contagion surged to 417,934 since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, said a joint statement by the Jordanian government and the Ministry of Health.
The recoveries climbed by 2,200 to 358,484 it added, referring to 1,561 patients who are receiving treatment at hospitals.
Authorities conducted about 34,000 medical tests in the 24 hours, taking the total swabs to 4,796,000, it noted. (end)
