Italy: Travel suspension between regions prolonged to March 27

(MENAFN) On Monday, Feb. 22 an edict prolonging a suspension on travel between Italy's regions to March 27 was endorsed by Premier Mario Draghi's cabinet.

The suspension, part of the regulations intended for fighting the spread of coronavirus, was enforced by the past administration of ex-premier Giuseppe Conte and was set to end Thursday. The new edict also prolongs the regulation under which not over two adults, and their children aged under 14, can visit another person's private house.

Health Minister Roberto Speranza stated: "it is indispensable to continue with the restrictions with the (spread of the COVID) variants."

Regional Affairs Minister Maria Stella Gelmini assured that Draghi's executive would make "timely" resolutions on coronavirus constraints in accord with the regional administrations.
