(MENAFN- NewsBytes) Tata Motors will launch its HBX micro-SUV in India later this year. In the latest development, a test mule of the car has been spotted testing, revealing its key details.

As per the report , it will get both manual and automatic gearboxes, a 7.0-inch touchscreen console, a new form of Tata's signature 'Humanity Line' grille, and Duralloy wheels.

Exteriors Tata HBX: At a glance

Tata HBX shall draw styling cues from Safari and Harrier, featuring a new form of the company's signature "Humanity Line" grille and a split headlight setup. A muscular bonnet and a silvered skid plate will also be present.

It will be flanked by roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, and Duralloy wheels. On the rear, there will be wrap-around LED taillights and a roof-mounted spoiler.

The Tata HBX will draw power from a BS6-compliant 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine linked to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The mill should generate 86hp of maximum power. A 1.2-liter turbo-petrol mill might be offered at a later stage.

Interiors A peek inside the cabin

The Tata HBX will have a 5-seater cabin with HVAC controls, a multifunctional flat-bottom steering wheel, and doors that open 90 degrees.

It will house a 7.0-inch "floating" touchscreen infotainment console with support for the latest connectivity facilities.

To ensure the safety of the passengers, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, crash sensors, and a rear-view camera should be available.

The Tata HBX will be launched in India later this year and should cost between Rs. 4.5-7.5 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, it will go against Maruti Ignis, Ford Freestyle, Mahindra KUV100 NXT, and the upcoming Hyundai AX.
