China: Jiangsu hits record power use

(MENAFN)East China's economic powerhouse Jiangsu Province witnessed its electricity consumption hit 637.4 billion kWh in 2020, increased 1.75 percent from 2019, seeing a record high in spite of the effect of coronavirus.

As the economy picked up and the cold weather put in, Jiangsu's total electricity consumption revealed 9.5 percent year-on-year expansion in the fourth quarter last year. In December alone, the development rate hit 13.7 percent, stated the State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co., Ltd.

Impacted by the epidemic, electricity consumption declined by 13.2 percent year on year in the first quarter of 2020.
After the epidemic was contained throughout the country, firms in the province began resuming business in April and industrial power consumption has continued to revive ever since.
