Iraq reports 840 new daily COVID-19 infections, 5 fatalities


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Baghdad, Jan. 2 (Petra) -- Some 840 COVID-19 cases were recorded in Iraq Saturday, taking the caseload to more than 597,000, according to the Iraqi Health Ministry.
COVID-19 killed 5 within the last 24 hours, as the death toll stands at 12,829, the Ministry said.
More than 541,700 people have recovered from the highly contagious disease so far, it added.
