Syria: 20 YPG member killed by Turkish forces

(MENAFN) On Monday, Dec. 28, Turkey's Defense Ministry stated that, Turkey's security forces have killed 20 members of the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in northern Syria as they were getting ready to launch an attack into Turkey's operation zone.

The ministry posted on Twitter: "our commandos continue to neutralize PKK/YPG terrorists that are trying to infiltrate the Operation Peace Spring area. Another 20 PKK/YPG terrorists, who attempted to infiltrate from the south to attack the region, were neutralized by the successful intervention of our commandos."

The occurrence was a day after the Turkish Defense Ministry stated its security military killed 15 YPG members as they were arranging to launch an attack into Operation Peace Spring zone on Sunday.

Turkey's authorities often utilize the term "neutralized" in their declarations, which means the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.
