Disbursal of Qatari grant to 100,000 Gaza families begins


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Chairman of Qatar's Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, H E Ambassador Mohammed Al Emadi said yesterday that the committee, in cooperation with Qatar Fund for Development, began disbursing cash aid to poor families in Gaza. He said that the aid will be provided to 100,000 families in the strip, with each family receiving $100.

He added that the process will take place through branches of the post office and will be fully supervised by staff from the Qatari committee in cooperation with the designated authorities, led by the Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of communications and Information Technology in Gaza.

Ambassador Al Emadi said that there are strict precautionary and preventative measures followed while implementing the process, to ensure the safety of the beneficiaries and the workers.

The measures ensure both parties adhere to physical distancing and the use of disinfectants in light of the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Gaza
