(MENAFN- Global Advertising) •Jeddah Governorate Municipality and International Artist Shalimar Sharbatly Launch the "Draw the Country" Initiative.
Within the framework of Saudi Arabia''''s preparations for the 90th National Day celebrations, the municipality of Jeddah in cooperation with international artist Shalimar Sharbatly launched the unique initiative "Draw the Nation" to paint a number of old cars and vehicles turning them into masterpieces to be displayed in the new waterfront and Jeddah''''s main Squares. This will coincide with the events of the celebration, which start on September 23rd (Saffar 6th) under the slogan "To the Summit".
The initiative will start from Jeddah''''s waterfront, where the artworks will be mostly made in Oia Beach Resort Jeddah and then taken to the waterfront for some finishing touches before being displayed, and aims to revive old things that society dispenses of and pollute the environment, transforming them into artworks that enrich the visual taste. Its second phase will include all cities in the kingdom then, expanding to the world, where these artworks will be exported to communicate Saudi art to the world.
International Saudi Artist Shalimar Sharbatly, the pioneer of Moving Art, expressed her gratitude to his excellency the mayor of Jeddah Saleh Al-Turki for supporting this national initiative, and for providing the old cars and vehicles turned into artworks. The artworks will attract the residents of the city of Jeddah as well as its visitors, she explained adding that the art of recycling and repurposing is an elegant and noble art form which transforms environmental hazards into artistic masterpieces.
Shalimar Sharbatly expressed her happiness to bring her experience in drawing on cars to the Kingdom, especially after the experiment''''s success on a global scale. Pointing that the most important characteristic of the initiative is recycling old cars and vehicles with brushes and colors and transforming them into masterpieces. These masterpieces will adorn the Bride of the Red Sea, adding to the brilliance of the city in embrace of the heritage and culture stored in it throughout its history. She confirmed that within the next few days she will finish her paintings on 4 cars to be displayed on the 23rd with the start of the National Day celebrations.
It is worth mentioning that the municipality of Jeddah has adopted many artistic initiatives in partnership with corporations and initiatives with the purpose of spreading artistic cultures and supporting their pioneers, as well as improving the urban landscape of the city.
