17 activists killed in airstrike in Afghanistan

Wahida Shahkar, provincial government spokesperson of Parwan province, said on Tuesday that an airstrike conducted by security forces on a Taliban fighters gathering in the province has resulted in the death of 17 activists.

The official said that the airstrike was started when over 200 Taliban activists were making plans to launch an attack on pro government militiamen checkpoints the district of koh-e-Safi on Tuesday.

The official said that a senior Taliban commander, Mohammad Nabi, has also been killed in the airstrike.

The activists who are active in parts of the province have not made any comments regarding the incident as of yet.
