Six new coronavirus cases reported in Libya

The Libyan National Center for Disease Control said on Friday that six new coronavirus cases have been reported in the country, increasing the total number of patients with the disease in Libya to 17.

A statement released by the center on Friday said that a total of 20 suspected cases have been tested for the virus, 14 of them have tested negative while the remaining 6 were positive.

Libya has recorded its first coronavirus related death on Thursday, the deceased is an 85 years old woman who has been diagnosed with the disease after she died.

Fayez Serraj, the prime minster of Libya, has imposed a state of emergency and mobilization in the countr in mid-March.

The government of Libya has increased efforts in its battle against the virus like shutting down airports, border crossings, mosques and educational institutions, imposing a curgew and banning large gatherings and traveling between cities.
