Jordan- Measures to address hurdles to pharmaceutical industry Minister


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan 18 (Petra) –– Health Minister Saad Jaber said on Saturday that the Jordanian pharmaceutical industry is of a fine quality, which provided it access to over 65 markets worldwide.
He said during a tour of the Joswe Medical and Dar Al Dawa companies that the government would provide support to the pharmaceutical industry to increase its contribution to the national economy, cover the Kingdom's health sector needs and enhance its ability to export Jordanian medicine.
The minister added that such visits and subsequent meetings with the pharmaceutical industry will culminate in a series of measures to take down barriers facing pharmaceutical factories and raise their efficiency and capacity.
He said that his ministry, through the General Foods Corporation, will accelerate the procedures for registration of drugs to meet local needs and export Jordanian medicines.
Jaber urged the pharmaceutical industry to innovate and produce authentic Jordanian medicines or drugs that are not available locally to help support the national economy and its export capacity, network with research and scientific institutions to achieve this goal and find new production lines.
