(MENAFN) According to local news website Lebanon 24, a number of Syrian and Lebanese nationals were detained on Sunday by Lebanon's maritime forces as they were trying to unlawfully run away from Lebanon to Cyprus in a boat.
Lebanon 24 informed that, the detained people were sent to judicial bodies for additional investigations and legal operations.
Many Syrians living in Lebanon are suffering from terrible financial situations, prompting them to try to run away to other countries to look for a better life.
