21.8 percent decline in S.Korea's export

Customs office data showed on Monday that the exports in South Korea saw a significant drop in the starting 20 days of September due to less business days resulting from the traditional Chuseok holiday.

Exports make up around half of the country's economy, it saw a 21.8 percent decline since the past year to reach USD28.5 billion in September.

The working days number has decreased 2 days in the time period in comparison with a year ago as the Chuseok holiday fell on this month.

The daily average export dropped 10.3 percent to USD2.11 billion in the same time period, excluding the effect of less business days.
