Kuwaiti sports official praises outstanding level of swimming team in Gulf championship


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Sept 7 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the Kuwait Swimming Federation Thamer Al-Shamroukh praised the outstanding level of Kuwait's swimming team in the 27th edition of the GCC Water Games Championship which kicked off yesterday.
Al-Shamroukh told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the players of the national team won the first place after winning 23 medals at the end of this category with 10 gold, nine silver and four bronze.
He added that the Qatari team won the second place with 10 medals, including seven gold, one silver and two bronzes, while the Saudi team came third with 12 medals, including two gold, five silver and the same as bronze.
He explained that the young Kuwaiti swimming athletes also won the category title after winning eight medals (under 10 years) with four gold medals, threesilver and one bronze while the Saudi team came second with three medals including two gold and one bronze and the Omani team finished third with four medals including one gold and three silver.
He praised the Kuwaiti swimmers' performance in these competitions, which come after a long absence from international competitions due to the suspension.(end).
