Spokesman for the Nigerian state's police Yakubu Sabo confirmed that the gunmen who raided the village were wearing military uniforms.

According to the spokesman, the group of gunmen blocked the access road to the village.

Those gunmen seized at first seven people as they intercepted around six cars, but set two of the kidnapped free as a result of tight police patrols.

Sabo added that around USD10,000 and USD1,800 were seized from one of the vehicles that the gunmen released with the two people.
