Pakistan- ANP issues notices to three leaders for discipline violation in TDs election

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party on Friday issued show-cause notices to its three leaders for violating the party Code of conduct during the July 20 tribal districts election.

Notices were issued to Abdul Latif Afridi, Ayaz Wazir and Imran Advocate allegedly for supporting their relatives in elections instead of party's nominated candidates on their respective constituencies.

Abdul Latif Yousafzai, who is also the president of Peshawar high court bar association, is accused of supporting his own son in the election as an independent candidate instead of ANP candidate however neither his son nor the ANP nomination has secured victory.

Ayaz Wazir is accused to have violated party discipline for supporting rival independent candidate instead of offering full-fledged support to the ANP candidate that has incurred an irreparable loss to the ANP election campaign in the first-ever election for KP assembly. Wazir was told that he has not only failed to take an active part in the election campaign but also didn't extend help to the party candidate as he was expected by the Party.

The show cause, issued to Imran Afridi, said that the party workers and leaders from the constituency had complained that during the election, he has openly supported an independent candidate instead of your own party candidate. Imran was told that in the past, the ANP has appointed him on high positions and his whole family was treated with honour and respect by ANP for which he was expected to play a vital role for the party success in the election.

'In the newly merged districts, the party was expecting you and your family to work actively for the success of the ANP candidate but due to your lack of interest the party has not received proper votes,' said the show-cause notice issued to Imran.

All the three leaders were directed to submit responses to the show cause notices within a week. In case no response was submitted the party will initiate disciplinary action against them.
