Jordan- Arab finance ministers pledge support to Palestine

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Cairo, June 23 (Petra) -- The Arab finance ministers Sunday reaffirmed their commitment to the Arab League's resolutions to activate the financial safety net to support the Palestinian government with a monthly payment of USD100 million to help the Palestinian authority withstand the financial crisis it faces.
Following an emergency meeting headed by Tunisia in the pan-Arab organization's headquarters in Cairo, the Arab finance ministers emphasized in a statement to fully support the inalienable political, economic and financial rights of the Palestinian people.
During the meeting, of which Jordan was a participant, they emphasized the need to encourage and augment the cooperation and coordination between the Arab public and private financial institutions with their Palestinian peers.
The Arab ministers slammed Israel for its piracy on Palestinian money, calling on the international community to condemn Israel and pressure its government into halting these malpractices and return the Palestinian money in full without deduction.
