MoAF invites Omani firms to establish commercial aquaculture projects


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- In an important development for the sultanate's aquaculture sector, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MoAF) has called on Omani companies and institutions to establish commercial aquaculture projects.-

To register, each company should submit a feasibility study indicating the proposed location of the project, its area and the initial investment cost of the project. Each company must also indicate the type of aquaculture it wishes to start and the expected annual production with the start date of the project and the farming system. The company must also show the quality and quantity of the water that will be used in the project.-

MoAF also said the companies registering for the project must also specify the type of service that will be provided to the community through the project.-

The companies registering must also abide by the terms and quality of aquaculture regulations issued by Ministerial Decision No 177/2012.-

Interested companies and institutions must register through the ministry's website www.maf.gov.om between June 16 and July 15.-
