Kuwaiti Deputy PM meets Tunisian FM in New York


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW YORK, June 10 (KUNA) - Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Monday met with his Tunisian counterpart Khemaies Jhinaoui At the headquarters of Kuwait's mission to the United Nations in New York.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled congratulated Jhinaoui on the election of Tunisia as a non-permanent UN Security Council (UNSC) member for 2020-21 after the North African country won 191 votes at the UN General Assembly.
The Kuwaiti minister arrived in New York City on Sunday, to lead the delegation of Kuwait in the third presidency of Kuwait to the Security Council since its accession to the UN in 1963, and second for Kuwait during its non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council for the period 2018-2019.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Foreign Minister for the Minister's office Ambassador Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Mohammad Al-Sabah, Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organizations Nasser Al-Hayyen and Kuwait Deputy Permanent representative to the UN Bader Al-Munayyekh. (end)
