Kuwait launches cultural exhibition in Beijing


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 6 (KUNA) -- Kuwait has opened a cultural exhibition of both Chinese and Arabian Gulf civilizations in Beijing, highlighting common cultural bonds.
A collection of contemporary Chinese art objects, and Kuwaiti and Chinese traditional costumes that date back hundreds of years were put on display, the Kuwaiti Embassy in Beijing said in a statement obtained by KUNA.
The exhibition also features eye-catching manuscripts and paintings designed by Chinese young artists, according to the statement.
The cultural event mainly aims at linking both Kuwaiti and Chinese cultures which are deeply interlinked mainly in view of traditional costumes that date back between 300 and 600 years, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Chins Sameeh Hayat said while launching the exhibition.
Comparatively, a Chinese cultural exhibition is expected to take place in Kuwait soon with a view to enabling the Kuwaiti people to get better familiar with Chinese culture, history and civilization, he added.
Arab and foreign ambassadors and diplomats in Beijing, together with Chinese public and media figures, were present at the event. (end)
