WASHINGTON - May 31, 2019 -PRLog-- The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS or the System) is the nation's largest public pension fund with total fiduciary net position in the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) of $354 billion as of June 30, 2018.
According to the System, "CalPERS Investment Office seeks to establish a pool of service providers that CalPERS can engage on an as needed basis, to support project and ad hoc initiatives for all the Investment Office program areas, including each of the Asset Classes and support team. The Portfolio Assistance (Non-Fiduciary) Investment Consulting Spring-Fed Pool may be used by CalPERS for services including Sustainable Investments and Corporate Governance. Governance strategies are expected to earn excess return for the fund while driving market leadership in corporate governance initiatives. This requires access to timely, reliable, in-depth and complex analysis on both companies and industries. Analysis of this type must be of the highest caliber such as 'investment banking' research."
