UN migration agency returns home 222 illegal Ethiopian from Yemen

(MENAFN) The International Organization for Migration (IOM) declared on Saturday that 222 illegal Ethiopian migrants were recovered from the restive Yemen since Monday.

The UN migration agency confirmed that the migrants, who were voluntarily returned from Yemen's capital Sana'a to Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa since Monday with the support of IOM, were "unable to continue to support themselves or fund their travel home."

IOM added: "The migrants were left stranded in a country experiencing a deadly conflict".

The most recent flight on Saturday returned home some 46 Ethiopian nationals, raising the total number of people helped in the previous three flights since Monday to 222, according to IOM.
