Brazilian museum to hold lecture on Ancient Egypt

(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – On Saturday, May 11, the House-Museum Ema Klabin will hold the lecture 'For an ancient Egyptian identity: How to analyze the identity markers through history and archeology' with the archeologist Cintia Gama. The event runs from 11 am to 1 pm, and has opened registrations on the museum’s website . Seats are limited.

'The lecture will address how ancient Egyptians saw themselves through historical sources, in both archeological and text documents, comparing themselves with foreigners, the peoples they maintained contact with. Then, I will compare that with the image we no have of ancient Egyptians, and the current genetic researches that have been done on that people,' reported Gama in an interview to ANBA.

The registration fee is BRL 40 (USD 10). 'It will be a very affordable event for the general public and those interested in Ancient Egypt,' said Gama.

Cintia Gama is a doctor in ancient Egyptian religion at École Pratique des Hautes Études in Sorbonne, Paris, France, and was a scientific advisor in the department of Egyptian antiques of the Louvre Museum. She has also a masters in archeology from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a major in history from University of São Paulo, Brazil, and was part of three archeological missions to Egypt. Gama teaches history of gastronomy in Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas.

This will be the first of a cycle of lecture about identities held by the House-Museum Ema Klabin this year, where they intend to show the perception and shaping of one or more identities in different times in human history.
