Over UAH 2 bln envisaged for improving road safety in Ukraine


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) More than UAH 2 billion has been allocated from the state budget to increase the level of road safety in Ukraine.

Deputy Infrastructure Minister ofUkraine Yuriy Lavrenyuk said this during a meeting regarding the implementation of the tasks and measures of the State Program forImproving the Level of Road Safety in Ukraine in 2019, the Infrastructure Ministry reported.

'This year, more than UAH 2 billion was provided for the implementation of the State Program for Improving Road Safety in Ukraine, he said.

According to him, funding will be spent on the following measures: introduction of driver control and verification of the fulfillment of basic safety elements; ensuring the functioning of systems for automatic fixing violation of traffic rules for public roads of national importance; purchase of stationary speed control devices on public roads; procurement of mobile devices for monitoring compliance with traffic rules with photo and video recording functions to be installed in special vehicles of the patrol police of Ukraine.
