(MENAFN) Officials declared that over six people have died as five more were wounded in a new case of toxic liquor drinking in northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
The incident occurred in Ghatampur area of Kanpur district, about 126 km west of Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh.
A senior police official Anant Deo confirmed: "So far six people have died because of the consumption of spurious liquor in Ghatampur area."
Local government officials revealed that two people have been pronounced dead on Saturday, one on Sunday and three others on Tuesday.
