Turkish forces detain over 335 illegal migrants from several sites


(MENAFN) As many as 338 illegal migrants were detained across Turkey, security sources affirmed on Friday.

In the northwestern province of Canakkale, 166 illegal migrants were detained in the Ayvacik and Ezine districts by gendarmerie forces, stated a security source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media.

Security police also detained six alleged human smugglers.

In another operation, 46 migrants in a rubber boat were arrested by the Turkish Coast Guard in the Aegean Sea off the coast of Izmir province.
