India warns Kashmir militants

(MENAFN) Top Indian military commander in Kashmir has ordered mothers to get their militant sons to surrender or see them die, as security forces increased a crackdown in the disputed region after a suicide bomber killed 40 paramilitary police.

The Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant group said it was behind Thursday"s attack on a security convoy, but the Pakistani government has denied any relation to the blast, which has aroused tension between the nuclear-armed rivals.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come under domestic pressure for revenge, and said he has given the freedom to security forces to administer a "strong response".

In a televised address, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan denied that his country was involved the bombing, and was ready to talk with India on terrorism but would strike back if attacked.
