EU, Morocco ink fisheries agreement

(MENAFN) Morocco was announced to have inked an agreement on fisheries with the European Union (EU) on Monday.

Moroccan foreign ministry's bilateral relations director general Fouad Yazough penned the pact with Romanian ambassador Odobescu Luminita Teodora.

Previously in Morocco, the two sides explored such a contract and agreed to go through with it ahead of a vote by their legislative bodies.

Under the deal, Morocco will be granted USD61.1 million per year in exchange for authorizing EU vessels to fish in Moroccan waters.
