Lebanon's summit to take place as scheduled: president

(MENAFN) The Arab Economic and Social Development Summit is guaranteed to be taken place in Beirut this month with no delays, Lebanese President Michel Aoun confirmed on Monday.

The assertion was made by the Lebanese president while speaking to Tunisia's Presidential advisor Lazhar Al-Qorawi Al-Chabi.

Tunisian Al-Chabi headed to Lebanon in order to deliver an invitation to the president to attend the Arab League set for March.

Aoun stressed that "the absence of a government in Lebanon is not a reason for postponing the summit because the caretaker government is exercising its powers in accordance with the Constitution."
