UAE participates in 15th Arab International Conference on Mineral Resources

CAIRO, 27th November, 2018 (WAM) -- The Ministry of Energy and Industry is participating in the 15th Arab International Conference on Mineral Resources and its accompanying exhibition, now running in Cairo.

The three-day event is being organised under the theme "Mining Investment and Economic Development in the Arab World."

Mohammed Al Kaabi, Assistant Under-Secretary for Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources at the Ministry of Energy and UAE's Governor for OPEC, is leading the UAE delegation to the event.

The conference draws a large number of Arab countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Morocco, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Yemen and Somalia, along with several institutions and international entities operating in the mining sector in addition to experts and academics from the United States, Great Britain, Australia, France and Canada.

The events is aimed at accelerating knowledge transfer and exchange of expertise in the field of mining.

The UAE delegation will take part in the seventh meeting of the Mineral Resources Ministers which will be held on the sidelines of the conference
