Amman, Oct. 28 (Petra)- Jordan will take part in the 79th session of the Educational Affairs Council of the Palestinian People and the joint meeting with senior UNRWA education officials at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, slated to continue until November 1.

The head of the Jordanian delegation, Acting Director General of the Palestinian Affairs Department, Nidal Haddad, said during the opening of the conference that Jordan is putting the Arab issues at the highest level of its interests and priorities, with the Palestinian cause at the top, according to a press release from the Department of Palestinian Affairs on Sunday.

Haddad said the Palestinian issue constitutes a daily concern to Jordan, since the beginning of the plight of Palestinians' refuge and displacement from their homeland.

He affirmed the Jordanian stances are still supportive of the Palestinian brethren in the face of their plight for decades until their legitimate national aspirations to establish their independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital are realized and their return to their homeland is completed in accordance with UN Resolution, 194.

Haddad noted the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) will remain the cornerstone of regional and international stability until a just solution is reached for the Palestinian cause as a whole.

The faith of refugees and the international community remains unshakeable despite repeated uncertainty and lack of political horizon, he said, adding for many decades, donors have realized that UNRWA is a double force to stabilize one of the most turbulent regions in the world.

He said the international community is morally responsible for sustaining the agency's vital services such as education, health and relief until the political conflict is resolved and permanent solution based on international legitimacy resolutions and the right to return and compensation are achieved.

Delegates from Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon, the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization, the Arab Universities Federation and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization participated in the meeting.
