Lebanon to support health sector with USD120m loan


(MENAFN) The Lebanese parliament approved of a World Bank loan of USD120 million in support of the health sector in the country.

The National News Agency cited caretaker Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil as saying "we should benefit from these loans at low interest rates since our revenues are very limited."

The loan was explained to be in line with a wider World Bank plan to endorse the attempts of Lebanon's government to shrink social and economic effects of the Syrian crisis.

The health care initiative was unveiled to be executed in five years, with the interest rate on the loan to be reaching a minor 0.25 percent.

Almarkazia reported the loan to be helping the development of service the medical centers of the Health Ministry and public hospitals provide.
